Take your dancing to the next level with the Movers and Shakers performance team!
Starting February 2025, you will learn a choreography over 5 months and perform at nightclubs and festivals (“Congresses”) in Los Angeles and Las Vegas.
The performance team will also make you a better social dancer!
CHOREOGRAPHY: SALSA AND BACHATA
Choreography includes salsa and bachata.
You do NOT need experience in both styles. Experience in one style is sufficient and you will be able to learn the choreography for the other style.

Movers and Shakers performance team members build a strong bond and become the “elite” core of the academy. They have a strong sense of belonging and are often proud ambassadors.
You will be welcomed into a vibrant, enthusiastic, positive group.
We also work hard, sweat, and focus during rehearsals. Your dancing skills will improve dramatically and you'll get a great workout.
The director also ensures that every team member is always challenged to become a better dancer. When you're ready for more, he ensures you get it.
Through the physical challenge, fun, shared purpose, and events and shows together, you'll form a special bond with your teammates and will likely make friendships that last a life time.
We also have a strict "no drama" and "total support" policy. This keeps us focused on positive reinforcement and encouragement.
The Movers and Shakers performance team is a special experience like no other.
THE FESTIVAL EXPERIENCE

Salsa / Bachata festivals, also known as "congresses," are big weekend dance events at hotels that often attract thousands of dancers from all over the world.
Festivals host pool parties, performances, hours upon hours of dance workshops, and social dancing all night until the sun comes up.
Going solo, it's easy to feel lost at these congresses. As a Movers and Shakers performer though, you will feel right at home having your entire Movers and Shakers family with you. You'll have teammates to go to meals with, attend workshops with, and have fun with!
The academy director also often books a suite to host the famous Movers and Shakers parties! It's a one of a kind, unforgettable experience.
DURATION
5 months. February through July. (Equal to about 2 regular Movers and Shakers programs)
MISSED REHEARSALS
Life happens. We understand.
Realistically most team members will have to miss some rehearsal. Just prioritize rehearsal and always be there when possible.
Missed rehearsals are not pro-rated.
If you'd like to join and must miss a large block of time, contact us to explore what's possible.
PRACTICE WITH TEAMMATES
Mandatory: minimum 2 hours per week with at least 1 teammate outside of regular team rehearsal.
You may arrange your own schedules.
These practices help ensure the team makes steady progress. They are also fun and great for team bonding.
PRACTICE SOLO
10 minutes per day (just 5 days per week). Exercises will be given for spinning, stretching etc.
PERFORMANCES
Local shows will be scheduled at social dance nights around Los Angeles.
"Main" shows will be scheduled at salsa/bachata festivals, including:

Los Angeles World Salsa Congress in May

Las Vegas Salsa/Bachata Super Congress in July
You may perform when you are ready. Not every dancer needs to perform in every show.
If you must miss some shows, including "main" shows, that's fine. This is one reason we have many show opportunities throughout the year.
LOCATIONS
Movers and Shakers operates in several spaces all in West Los Angeles (between Santa Monica and Beverly Hills).
You will rehearse in one or more of our locations in the West Los Angeles area, not far from the 405 and 10 freeways.
PRICE
The Performance Team is about the length, and price, of two Movers and Shakers regular programs.
The team is the lowest price per hour of any Movers and Shakers program when instructor time is included for studio rehearsals, local shows, festival shows, rehearsals at festivals, etc.
